The long awaited updated version of phpBook has been released.
It is currently undergoing final testing and translating. However the RC1 version is available for download
There are a number of significant improvements over the previous version;

- Extremely flexible template driven design
- reCaptcha form verification
- Gravatar user avatars

We have a number of further improvements and anti-spam features that we will be rolling out in 2011 Q4
